Kentucky Archaeological Registry Program: Is for Landowners who Care

Most archaeological sites in Kentucky, and therefore most of what remains of our cultural heritage, are located on private property. To recognize private landowners who care for these sites, the Kentucky Heritage Council created the Kentucky Archaeological Registry.

more than 200 years
Since 1987, the Registry has recognized 20 archaeological sites. These sites include a square earthwork, an oval earthwork, burial mounds, and village sites.
